Nike Introduces Self Lacing Shoes, The “Nike Hyperadapt 1.0”

The global sportswear outfitter, Nike, has recently revealed a new sneaker line that laces itself called the "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0." The revolutionary sneaker is the first of it's kind and will be revealed later this year.

Nike has always been a leader in innovation in terms of combining technology and design to give the best possible product that boasts maximum comfort and utility. Now, the sportswear giant has taken a step forward with creating the first ever self-lacing sneakers.

The "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0" was inspired by the self-tying sneakers worn my Michael J. Fox in "Back to the Future," and over 30 years later, the shoe has now come to life. The show will come to life via a power cell inside the sneaker, and will need charging before use. The shoe features an intricate knit design, similar to the Nike "Flyknit," while being a bit bulkier like the Nike "Airmax" line, with "E.A.R.L." on the tongue, which stands for Electro Adaptive Reactive Laces, which allows the "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0" to perfectly fit the feet of the wearer, according to Nike designers via Wired.

The purpose of the "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0" is for optimum fit of the shoes, as the laces will automatically adjust to the wearer's foot. According to Geek, the show will be able to tighten or loosen in all areas to maximize comfort and usage for trail hikes, or basketball games on the court.

The "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0" will be available on November in select US stores, though customers won't be able to simply walk and try on a pair, instead, they will have to set up an appointment just to fit the shoes. In terms of price, Nike still has not revealed the amount of how much the shoes will cost, but sources claim that a pair of the "Nike Hyperadapt 1.0" will come at a hefty price tag.
