'Empire' Star Terrence Howard & Wife Mira Welcome First Baby Boy: 'He's Beautiful & Strong'

The star of TV's top-rating series "Empire" is a father all over again. Terence Howard and his wife Mira recently welcomed their first baby together and they call him Qirin Love.

Howard, 46, was at the Monte Carlo TV Festival to promote "Empire" when he revealed that his wife has actually given birth last May. "He's beautiful and strong and a whirlwind and my wife is so happy," he proudly shared in an interview with Access Hollywood. The baby's unusual but beautiful name is from a mythical Chinese creature, the qilin, which symbolizes serenity and prosperity.

Terrence also said that he shares feeding duties with Mira and even made a joke about it. "[Mira] has to be up with him all throughout the day. I wasn't born with boobs, I've started growing some recently," he told reporters. He feeds the baby at night with Mira's pre-pumped breast milk, while his wife sleeps.

Terrence and Mira, who is a restauranter, were married back in 2013 and announced the pregnancy back in December, at a New Year's Eve party, according to US Magazine.

This isn't the first daddy duty Terrence has done, however, as he has three other children from a previous marriage with Lori McCommas --- daughters Aubrey, 21, and Heaven, 17, and son, Hunter, 19. He and McCommas were married in 1989 but divorced in 2007.

The "Crash" star was also married to Michelle Ghent after McCommas in 2010, but they divorced in 2013. Shortly afterwards, he met Mira and then, in a whirlwind romance, married her after one month of dating, according to Inquistr.

Viewers watching Terrence play the enigmatic Lucious Lyon on "Empire," may be surprised to know that he's already a grandfather through Aubrey. "My oldest daughter gave me a granddaughter two years ago and now I've got a grandson, Adrian, a week ago. It's something else to become a part of something bigger than yourself. And then my wife, we're due in May and I'm having another boy," the actor said back in February in the show "Live! With Kelly & Michael," as Inquistr reported.

The actor has a few more weeks to look after his new baby before returning to work in his drama series, which returns for its second year in the fall. According to TV Line, while his character was arrested at the end of the show last season, Terrence will not be sidelined at work, as Lucious Lyons is a big part of "Empire."
