The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly send an aggressive offer to J.R. Smith and are hopeful to retain their missing piece to defend their NBA title this season. J.R. Smith is still in the NBA free agent pool and hasn't committed to any team yet.

The Cavaliers and J.R. Smith are both tied in a situation where the Cleveland Cavaliers cannot commit to the asking price of J.R. Smith which is around $15 million. According to CBS Sports, the Cavaliers have now increased their offer, though GM David Griffin didn't mention anything, it has been rumored to be between $10 million to $15 million.

In a report by the WKYC, the Cleveland Cavaliers are very optimistic that J.R. Smith would sign with them soon. Not only that Smith's agent can actually make a good deal, but there is also LeBron James who is very close to J.R. Smith which can definitely help convince Smith to return.
