'The Blacklist' Season 2 Recap & Spoilers: Why Reddington Kill Mr. Kaplan? Red A Protagonist Or The Real Antagonist?

"The Blacklist" Season 4 is definitely one of the best TV series today. After deceiving fans about Liz's (Megan Boone) faked death, fans were left appalled after Red (James Spader) intentionally killed his confidante Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommae). Why did Red kill her? Did Red did it for the right reason or was it because Kaplan had known so much about him?

In "The Blacklist" Season 3, Mr. Kaplan worked with Liz to fake the latter's death. Liz wanted to live a normal life with her family after delivering her daughter, Agnes.

Unfortunately, things turned awry when Alexander Kirk abducted Liz and when Red learned that Liz was still alive. There was a deep betrayal among the key characters in "The Blacklist," which made the story more daring and darker.

"The Blacklist" has been unpredictable but have you ever imagined Red killing Mr. Kaplan? Yes, we understand that Mr. Kaplan betrayed Red by covering Liz's death but she's been there for Red.

In "The Blacklist" Season 4 episode 2, Mr. Kaplan betrayed her friend Little Nikos, who died in Tom's hands. However, to everyone's surprise, the said episode ended with Red killing Mr. Kaplan too, Entertainment Weekly reported.

If you've been following the last episode, Mr. Kaplan's statements were filled with cryptic messages. She's been there for Red and she thought covering Liz's death was what's best for Red and Liz. Unfortunately, Red accused her of deciding on her own.

Mr. Kaplan explained that her betrayal was the fulfillment of Red's wish and pleads for her life but Red shot her. Is Red really protecting Liz? Does he wants what's best for her or is it true that he is just using Liz for revenge and he killed Mr. Kaplan because she knew too much already?

Although James Spader's character is very difficult to read, fans are convinced that he is there to protect Liz. However, with the recent turn of events in "The Blacklist" Season 4, things appear to have changed. Fans are now questioning Red's character. Is he good or is the real villain in the series.

Liz is currently torn on Alexander Kirk's confession. In fact, she saved him because she was open to the possibility that he was telling the truth. Is Kirk telling the truth? This question will soon be answered in the next episodes of "The Blacklist" Season 4.
