'Friday The 13th: The Game' Release Date, News Update: Trailer Reveals Extremely' Violent Turn As Jason Vorhees?

In most GUI survival games players get to be the nice guy, but in "Friday The 13th: The Game," anyone can take the role of hockey mask-totting psycopath, Jason Vorhees--that is, if you are up to be the antagonist. "Friday The 13th: The Game"  from Gun media lets you make the call.

Gun Media is set to launch "Friday The 13th: The Game" this month, giving everyone an advanced spooky treat. Word is that there is no holding back and its tenet can safely be assumed to be"the bloodier, the better." True enough it is, at least, in what was shown in the sneak peak released at PAX West 2016.

It is full of gore that Hot Hardware even touted it as the "most violent video game ever." In the trailer, there is axe-smashing, neck-gutting, name-any-body-part dismembering. In comparison, the video game was said to have a "Left 4 Dead" kind of vibe, only that the players are dealing with Jason and the other camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake.

According to Game Spot, the video game started as "Slasher Vol 1: Summer Camp." Right-holders of "Friday the 13th" contacted the developer, and until then, the vile game has been renamed to its final name, "Friday the 13th: The Game."

The game inspired by the horror story in the 1980s, "Friday the 13th," was reported to be available for play in PS4, XBox One and PC, and was first announced late last year. In a separate Game Spot report in October last year, "Friday The 13th" franchise creator Sean Cunningham said that there is no point in giving controlled content with him referring to violence, nudity and gore.

Cunningham told the publication that these are not just optional concepts as they are the lifeblood of the game. "We're not interested in compromising what made the film franchise so popular. We're interested in building precisely what we, as fans, want. The ultimate Friday the 13th experience. Blood, guts, gore, brutal kills, and more," said Cunningham.

A few more weeks left and there is still no news on when exactly the video game will be out, but most definitely, it won't be on a Friday the 13th, as they are numbered--unluckily--7, 14, 21 and 28. Are you excited with the release of "Friday The 13th: The Game?"
