Amazon Jobs UPDATE: Alexa Group Hiring, 400 Posts Available

Amazon's Alexa Group has just opened 401 job positions to be filled. As the development of Amazon Echo becomes more successful, the group is seeking for data engineers, machine learning scientists, entrepreneurial technologists with expertise in speech recognition. Amazon has more than 1,000 employees working for Alexa and Echo products.

Amazon's Alexa Group's open positions are located at their headquarters in Seattle, some locations in United States including Tempe in Arizona, Cambridge and Sunnyvale in California. The company is also looking to hire overseas like Germany, United Kingdom and Gdansk, Poland as part of their IVONA subsidiary, according to CNET.

Amazon's voice technology group, Alexa, is known for its advanced technology developments like Amazon Echo, a hands-free speaker you can control with your voice. It connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, news, sports scores, weather and more. Other Amazon Devices like Fire TV, a tiny box to connect to HDTV with voice search, is also working with some smart home products through their Alexa Voice Service.


Amazon's Ivona, which is based in Poland, that delivers text-to-speech products and services to thousands of businesses and customers around the world. It offers 44 voices in 17 languages with more to be developed. The retail giant company's expanding as the voice recognition technology is becoming a bigger feature in many devices and is said to be working with other tech companies to integrate Alexa into their devices, according to Recode.

It's not just Amazon who has been working on the voice assistant technology. Google has revealed their similar product, Google Home, a voice-controlled device which makes it Amazon's Echo rival. Apple is also upping its game in intelligent assistant field.
