NBA Trade Rumors: Nets’ Jeremy Lin & Brook Lopez In Exchange For Lakers’ Jordan Clarkson, Luol Deng & Julius Randle?

The latest NBA trade rumors involve the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers. Recent speculations claimed that the Nets can let go of Jeremy Lin and Brook Lopez in exchange for Lakers' Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle.

The Nets' standing in the 2016-17 NBA season is admittedly not great, according to Sportsrageous. The team should be working on improving their young talents and acquiring prospects to strengthen their force.

The Lakers, on the other hand, will probably test their young talents' prowess in the court for the upcoming season and check out how their rebuilding process is faring. If the team sees an impressive performance from their young players early on, they "might get the idea of moving other players and aim for a playoff spot since they have been on the losing end for many years already," Sportsrageous wrote.

Kevin Smith of Today's Fastbreak said that the Nets can trade Lopez for picks/young talent and start developing Justin Hamilton as the team's primary center. Lopez is an impressive player who's got great offensive talents. However, the 28-year-old will likely enter free agency this coming summer and he's probably not a good fit with the Nets' future plans.

"By the time the Nets are ready to be playoff contenders again, Lopez probably won't be nearly effective as a player," Smith added on Today's Fastbreak. Hamilton, meanwhile, complements the Nets' rebuilding process and he can help the franchise stay competent.

With this, the Lakers and the Nets are perfect trade partners -- that is if the former's head coach Luke Walton wants to pursue the idea. Aside from Clarkson and Randle, the Nets can trade Lopez and Lin for Luol Deng. The Nets can also demand a first-round pick from the Lakers to make the trade more balanced.

Real GM, however, noted that this trade cannot push through until December 15, 2016. That will be the time when some talents will be available as trading pieces because they are tied to their contracts this offseason.

If Deng gets traded to the Nets, D'Angelo, Russell, and Brandon Ingram can take his place as the Lakers' starting forwards. Lopez, Ingram, Russell, and Lin would be teaming up as the team's core pieces and help propel the Lakers towards a playoff spot in the new NBA season's Western Conference.
