'Pokemon Go' News, Updates: New Feature Will Reward Players For Catching The Same Pokemon

"Pokemon Go" players know that catching the same Pokemon time and again can be a bit disappointing. By now, most trainers have had their decks full of Rattatas, Weedles and Pidgeys and if you're a "Pokemon Go" beginner, this may prove to be a hassle, especially if you don't know how to use them.

Game creator Niantic has heard the heed of "Pokemon Go" players. In a recent blog post in their official website, an upcoming update will grant "catch bonus" when trainers earn medals by catching "certain types of Pokemons". Typically, "Pokemon Go" offers medals as an incentive for catching a certain type of Pokemon. In the new update, these medals "will boost your odds of catching Pokemon of the corresponding type," according to Cnet.

Niantic Labs further elaborated the explanation by saying that "as you reach a higher tier for a Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokemon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases." It also added that "Pokemon Go" players can evolve to new tier by catching as many Pokemons of the same type. However, if a Pokemon has multiple types, a "Pokemon Go" player "will be the average of your bonuses of each type."

It is also worth mentioning that Niantic included three images below their latest "Pokemon Go" blog post. It showed that a "Pokemon Go" player who can catch 10 Poison type Pokemon will receive 1 Poison type bonus, while capturing 50 Water types will have for plus 2 Water type catch bonus and catching 200 Fire type Pokemons will reward players plus 3 Fire type bonus.

While these types may not be the only ones that will give trainers plus points to bolster their chances of catching a much better Pokemon, Niantic will definitely add more spice and punch to their upcoming update. There's no word when the new "Pokemon Go" update will be rolled out, but their latest add-on, the Buddy Pokemon is a straight hit.
