‘Jade Empire’ Arives To iOS And Mac From BioWare

"Jade Empire," the acclaimed 2005 martial arts action role playing game from BioWare, is coming back; although unlike what most fans of the game hoped for, the return of "Jade Empire" is a release to the iOS mobile platform instead of an actual sequel to the original game.

Gamespot reported that "Jade Empire" is now available to iOS devices as well as the Mac, and is also now available on the iTunes store for about $10. Compatible devices for the iOS release of "Jade Empire" are the Mac, third generation iPads, second generation iPad Minis, the iPad Air, as well as on the iPhone 5 or newer devices with the BioWare game not compatible with anything older.

To those unaware of what the game is or iOS users still undecided if they might want the game, "Jade Empire" is the fourth new intellectual property role playing game developed by BioWare after the "Baldure's Gate" and "Neverwinter Nights" series and the first "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic." Just like most of BioWare's attempts at creating role playing games, "Jade Empire" featured the now BioWare staple of choice and morality.

Unlike any of its previous BioWare role playing game predecessors however, "Jade Empire" did not receive another expansion or sequel after its original release back in 2005. Another difference between "Jade Empire" and BioWare's other role playing games is the fact that "Jade Empire" featured a more action oriented combat system coupled with a robust customization system that allowed players to fine-tune their own style.

Set in a world with deep Wuxia and Imperial China influences designed by BioWare, "Jade Empire" tells the story of prodigy martial artist thrust into a world-changing conflict and caught between the opposing philosophies of the Way of the Open Palm and the Way of the Closed Fist. Whereas before "Jade Empire" was only limited to the original Xbox and the PC platform, iOS users may now play the BioWare game and maybe even help the studio finally decide to work on a sequel.
