‘The Originals” Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Marcel Gerard Will Never Be A Villain? Klaus Mikaelson Jailer In Danger?

"The Originals" Season 4 will open with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) the seeming underdog as a prisoner to Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis). The CW series gave Klaus Mikaelson a short ride to redemption when, with the Mikaelsons under threat in "The Original" Season 3, the original hybrid played hero with help from Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkins).

In "The Originals" Season 4 premiere Klaus Mikaelson will be raring to escape. By then Marcel Gerard would have kept Klaus Mikaelson prisoner for five full years at the Season 4 premiere.

  Klaus Mikaelson had been hidden away in the dungeon where Marcel Gerard kept him for five years. Although the plight of Klaus Mikaelson may court sympathy, Marcel Gerard will never be "The Originals" villain.

"The Originals" producer Michael Narducci specifically told Entertainment Weekly that Marcel Gerard will never be a villain in The CW series. Parent Herald cites "The Originals" highlights where Marcel Gerard had been savior for Klaus Mikaelson.

What Marcel Gerard has is a strong sense of loyalty and deep. As "The Originals" fans will continue to see, Marcel Gerard has strong loyalties to his allies and deadly enmity for those who threaten those in his care.

In "The Originals" Season 4, Marcel Gerard himself may be the one that sets Klaus Mikaelson free. "Maybe someone is going to decide that there's a big problem in the world and Klaus Mikaelson is the only person that can help us deal with it," Michael Narducci hinted to TV Guide.

Indeed "The Originals" Season 4 is bringing very real danger into New Orleans, not only to Klaus Mikaelson and the children of New Orleans, but also perhaps to Marcel Gerard. Despite their differences, Marcel Gerard had always successfully helped Klaus Mikaelson survive threats to his existence.
