Mariah Carey Marrying James Packer? Insider Talks Courtship & Wedding

Diva Mariah Carey is said to be thinking about marrying billionaire boyfriend James Packer. 

Earlier reports indicated that the love birds, who have been dating for a short period, are already talking about tying the knot. TMZ reported earlier that sources revealed, "they've been 'dating' for just a matter of days, but he's already told her he wants to marry her, sooner rather than later. The soonest can be when she's officially divorced from Nick Cannon. But we're told Mariah is open to tying the knot with James."

However, the rumors were quickly put to rest by E! Online who reports that the rumors are false. While the budding romance is in a good place and continuing, an insider says that the rumors are ridiculous and "They are not talking marriage."

Mariah is said to be "enjoying his company, but she's also trying to remain cautious. This trip is a chance for her to really get to know him. She hasn't 100 percent let him in yet." They also add that, "she's having a lot of fun being courted. It's very different than when Nick Cannon was wooing her. To her, Nick was a boy. James is a man."

In addition to this knowing source, another insider shared the same insight saying that since the ex-wife of Cannon met James, they've hit it off but they aren't in a rush to race down the altar; they're "still in the process of getting to know each other."

They also detail that what really works in their growing romance is the communication which is simple and easy. They add that the Sydney-born entrepreneur is really into the music icon and her kids. 

"James has been speaking to his family and friends back in Australia allot about Mariah. This is just the beginning of their relationship and they are both excited about what possibly can be ahead for them in the future. Mariah friends and family just want her to be happy and feel special again," said the insider. 

Both celebrities have come from previous marriages. Mail Online reported that Packer used to be married to model Erica Baxter while 45-year-old Carey is in the process of divorcing the "America's Got Talent" host. 

Packer has three children while Mariah has twins with Nick.
