"Beyond" Season 1: Freeform To Air Entire First Season On January [Trailer Teaser]

On January 2, 2017, satellite channel Freeform will stretch the boundaries of cable and TV series by premiering the entire first season of its newest Sci-Fi series, "Beyond". The one-hour long program will follow the exploits of Holden Matthews 12 years after his coma, only to find out that he has new powers.

TV Series Finale posted that during the New York Comic Con panel for the series, Freedom disclosed that "Beyond" will be aired on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 9:00PM EST "with a special two-hour premiere event." It also said that the "highly anticipated series" will also be casted on the Freeform app, Freeform.com, On Demand and Hulu.

Freeform President Tom Ascheim reiterated in a press release that the premiere of Beyond "marks an important milestone in the history of Freeform" since its rebrand in January of this year. One of the promises of Freeform, he added, "was to create content they love and to make content easily available." Their decision to air the full season of "Beyond" is one of the many "binge-from-the-start" shows that will ignite and fulfill their promise for "modernizing" TV shows for their audience.

Freeform's "Beyond" will put fans in Holden Matthews' shoes as he tries to find answers during years that he is in a coma. As part of his struggle, Matthews must learn to "survive a world that changed while he was gone" and go through his journey.

"Beyond" will star Burkely Duffield (House of Anubis, Warcraft), Romy Rosemort (Glee, Grey's Anatomy), Michael McGrady (How to Get Away with Murder, Scorpion), Jonathan Whitesell (Once Upon A Time, iZombie), Dilan Gwyn (Dracula Untold, Da Vinci's Demons) and Jeff Pierre (Drumline: A New Beat, Glee). Created and produced by Adam Nussdorf, Freeform's "Beyond" will be under Automatik Imperative Entertainment, with Steven Adelson, Nick Copus and Sam Hill, among others, as directors. Jim Galasso, Mimi Won Techentin, Elias Benavidez and Ryan Mottesheard contribute as episode writers.

Will you be watching "Beyond" next year? Will 2017 be the year Freeform revolutionizes TV series viewing? Let's all find out soon.
