Parent Herald previously reported that Cleveland Cavaliers are now waiting for J.R. Smith to ink the deal after offering their former shooting a guard a competitive deal. However, new reports surface that Boston Celtics is also interested in acquiring Smith.

Initial reports suggest that J.R. Smith demands a $15 million deal but Cavs only offered $10 million because no other team in the NBA league is bidding for Smith. However, just recently Celtics is reportedly making its interest in acquiring Smith known. Is Smith waiting for Cavs to raise the deal, now that another team is showing interest in him?

As for Boston Celtics, per SportsRageous, Isaiah Thomas is supportive of his team's quest for J.R. Smith. In an interview with ESPN, the Celtics point guard disclosed that they want to win this NBA season.

When prompted the biggest issue that Boston Celtics are facing, Thomas immediately admitted that they are poor at shooting. He said it again and again that the team is weak in shooting and this is where J.R. Smith comes into the picture.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard is great at shooting. In fact, he averaged 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. According to Cleveland.com J.R. Smith led the NBA playoffs in 3-pointers. In one game, Smith scored 23 points including seven 3-pointers to ace Cavs victory against Atlanta Hawks.

The report believes that adding J.R. Smith to Boston Celtics' lineup of Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford will boost the team's score. Even LeBron James, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson would agree that J.R. Smith is a knockdown shooter. In fact, all three wish to work with Smith again this NBA season.
