ABC's ‘The Toy Box’ [AIR DATE, LATEST UPDATES]: ABC, Mattel Collaborating To Bring Newest Toy-Making Reality Series With Eric Stonestreet

Kids and kids at heart will definitely love the new reality show, "The Toy Box," created through the collaboration of ABC network and toy manufacturing company, Mattel. The show will be the first-of-its-kind primetime TV reality series that will bring drama and excitement in the toy invention and production realm.

"'The Toy Box' brings the pressure and drama of competition-style shows to the toy-design process in a format that's sure to thrill kids and families alike," Hudsun Media CEO Michael Rourke said. "For the first time, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of toy making, as they see what it takes to design the next great American toy."

"The Toy Box" will feature contestants from all over the world who will compete in making the world's most loved toy. According to Variety, every episode will show amateur inventors who will run their designs through different tests to get a spot in the finals wherein their inventions will be screened by a panel of kid judges.

As said by Mattel president and chief operation chief Richard Dickson, "The Toy Box" aims to be an inspiration to kid, families and toymakers to create a unique toy. In addition, Dickson also said that the show will also showcase the exceptional, "behind-the-scenes look at the hard work, determination and creativity it takes to run a globally recognized" toy firm.

"The Toy Box" will be produced by TV production agency Hudsun Media. The international distribution, on the other hand, will be handled by Electus, which is the content arm of toy giant company Mattel.

The winner of the said reality show, "The Toy Box" will have his invention produce and introduce to the market with the help of Mattel's marketing, design and manufacturing platforms. The newly-invented toy product will then be made available right after the contest, as reported by Futon Critic.

Meanwhile, "The Toy Box" is expected to air during the 2016-2017 season on ABC Television Network. The show will be hosted by "Modern Family" and "The Secret Life of Pets" star Eric Stonestreet.
