  Kate Jenkinson was just as, if not more, shocked than fans to find out that Danielle Cormack was exiting Bea Smith at "Wentworth" Season 4. According to Kate Jenkinson, she cried for an hour after filming "Seeing Red" even though she knew beforehand that Allie Novak was saying goodbye to Bea Smith.

The death of Bea Smith, Kate Jenkinson reflected, would not have been so tragic if the "Wentworth" lead died much later on. By way of explanation, she pointed out that Allie Novak and Bea Smith were still at the height of their fight to survive.

The "Wentworth" actress confessed that her shock may have come from momentarily forgetting that the story is a TV show, meant to have highs and lows. Kate Jenkinson revealed initially thinking that Foxtel made a wrong decision in killing off Bea Smith.

Danielle Cormack has a strong following among "Wentworth" fans as Bea Smith. Given this, Kate Jenkinson admitted to considering the possibility of a backlash in "Wentworth" Season 5.
