‘Pokémon ORAS’ & ‘Pokemon X & Y’ Update: Volcanion Code Now Available; More Mythical & Rare Pokemon Coming

It's time for players to take a break from the "Pokémon GO" obsession and set their sights on Nintendo 3DS titles "Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y." Players now have access to Mythical Pokémon Volcanion and more rare creatures are coming their way as the games get updated.

Volcanion, which is the first ever Fire and Water-type Pokémon, is level 70. The Pokémon is equipped with the Water Absorb ability and had four powerful movesets at its disposal: Explosion, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, and Steam Eruption, VG247 listed.

Volcanion is the newest Pokémon offered through a GAME UK and GameStop promo for "Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y" players. To get the Pokémon, players must visit their local GAME or GameStop and get a free Volcanion code until October 31.

Upon getting the Volcanion code, click the Mystery Gift tab on your Nintendo 3DS and tap the Receive Gift button, then hit Get With Code afterward, according to NowLoading. This requires "Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y" players to have an internet connection.

"Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y" users should then enter the Volcanion code they got and then download the Pokémon. For the last step, users should head to a Pokémon Center and approach the Delivery Girl to receive Volcanion.

"Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y" all have special Easter eggs that can only be viewed by players if they have Volcanion. The Pokémon's signature move is Steam Eruption, which has 5PP, inflicts 110 damage, and has a 95 percent accuracy. Thanks to its Water Absorb quality, any water damage thrown in Volcanion's way is useless and even heals one-quarter of maximum HP.

Volcanion's release is part of the promotion for the animated film "Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel," which will bow in select North American and European markets soon, VG247 noted. The Volcanion promo also coincides with the year-long Pokémon 20^th anniversary celebration, which involves monthly downloads of mythical Pokémon for the two latest "Pokémon" games.

Aside from Volcanion, another great addition to "Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokémon X & Y" players' Pokédexes is Keldeo. The Colt is available on Nintendo until October 24.

Keldeo is a Fighting and Water-type Pokémon with no evolutions but it has a Resolute form. Hoopa was also released this month and Darkrai -- a level 100 Pokémon -- will come next, iDigitalTimes reported.
