‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: The Whisperers Confirmed? The Huge Threats They Pose To Rick’s Group

"The Walking Dead" has already introduced groups of survivors from the comic books that the highly popular AMC series was based on. A new post from the official Instagram page of "The Walking Dead" may have hinted about The Whisperers, another gang of survivors that could potentially threaten Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group.

The Instagram promotional photo for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 featured a severed head on a pike with the caption "You've been warned." Check out the image below.

The Whisperers are a huge threat in the world of "The Walking Dead" comics. According to Screen Rant, The Whisperers are survivors who have devised a way to co-exist among the Walkers without the threat of being eaten or bitten. The group made suits out of the Walkers' skin and they don't speak louder than a whisper, hence the name.

The Whisperers are known for their brutal ways to protect their territory. In "The Walking Dead" comics, they left the same "warning" for Rick's group to let them know that the territory they're stepping on is run by The Whisperers.

The group's introduction to AMC's "The Walking Dead" echoes Lincoln's statement about what's in store for Season 7. The actor said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will be deeper and darker.

"We are opening up in a way that we've not done before. And it truly is very brave, and is something that I looked forward to in the book. I've always thought this is really when it started to get really interesting," Lincoln explained to EW. He added that the upcoming "The Walking Dead" episodes will tackle how the different communities of survivors "reinvented themselves" and "what kind of society they built" to stay alive.

Norman Reedus, who portrays Daryl, recently told host Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" that the "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere will be "really, really heavy" for viewers. Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kill will make "a lot of people will be kicking their television sets," Reedus teased.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will introduce the Kingdom as well and its leader, King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), along with his pet tiger Shiva, E! News reported. AMC recently renewed the series for an eighth season even before Season 7 aired. Season 8 will have 16 episodes and will debut in late 2017, according to Deadline.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premieres its first episode titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" on Sunday, Oct. 23 on AMC. Watch the promo below.
