MacBook Air 2017 Release Date: Rumors And Facts

With fans looking at the MacBook Air 2017 release date, many rumors have been circulating. But with Apple being mum on the subject, users are left grappling, trying to get some facts on the official MacBook Air 2017 release date.

With the MacBook Air's last update in 2016, many wonder what can expected during the MacBook Air 2017 release date. Many are thinking that the MacBook Air 2017 release date would bring about an updated OS, better memory, higher performance and possibly crisper display.

According to MacWorld UK, the last update of the MacBook Air for 2016 was rather disappointing and minimal. The update only included an optional RAM upgrade for the standard package of the 13-inch model.

When Apple hosted a special event on March 21, 2016, many expected that the new MacBook Air 2017 release date will be announced and introduced. No such announcement was made. But instead the event centered on the release of the iPhone SE and the iPad Pro 9.7-inch screen.

It was then on April 19, 2016 when Apple announced upgrades and improvements for both MacBook and MacBook Air. Their announcement did not include anything about the MacBook Air 2017 release date, but rather revolved around the specs of the MacBook Air.

With the minimal updates done to improve the MacBook Air, it seems that Apple is sending a message that they are slowly losing interest on this line up. According to rumors, the MacBook Air 11-inch will soon be retiring and apparently the 13-inch model will be discontinued as well.

From a post shared by Techradar, even with the discontinuation of MacBook Air, it is said that the recent version will include TouchID fingerprint recognition. This might be considered wishful thinking. This development was expected to be part of Magic Mouse and Magic TrackPad but never did.

Rumors are also circulating that should Apple continue producing and improving MacBook Air, it may come with a Retina version similar to MacBook and MacBook Pro. This should up the ante of MacBook Air as any advancement on display is of good advantage.

There is no certainty as to these reported rumors. So Apple users will have to wait for final and official update on the MacBook Air 2017 release date, which would come hopefully before the year ends.
