‘The Accountant’ News & Update:Ben Affleck's Film Tops The Box-Office!

The previous week surely ended on a high note for the thriller, "The Accountant" as it claims the top spot in the Hollywood's box-office list by bringing in almost $25 million. According to a Forbes article, "The Accountant," which stars Ben Affleck easily earned $9 million last Friday, toppling over other films in the list.

In a list published by Digital Trends, the comedy, "Kevin Hart: What Now" is not even halfway close to the second spot with $11.98 million. Meanwhile, "The Girl on the Train" starring Emily Blunt lags very close at the third spot with $11.97 million earnings.

The box-office success of this Ben Affleck's film exceeds expectations as the creators set out to earn only $17 million for its opening. Furthermore, The Wrap posted in an article that the production cost for "The Accountant" amounts to a little over $40 million.

Film creators cannot credit exemplary reviews as the reason for the huge box-office turn out as "The Accountant" merely got an average 52 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, moviegoers seem to disagree with the critics' ratings as a survey among the audience done during the opening night saw the movie flaunting a Cinema A score.

In this Warner Bros. film, Ben Affleck brings life to the character of Christian Wolf, a math wizard who secretly works for notorious criminal organizations worldwide. When he accepted an assignment for a robotics firm, he discovered a million-dollar discrepancy which will put his life in danger. "The Accountant" is directed by Gavin O'Connor and aside from Ben Affleck also stars Anna Kendrick, Cynthia Addai- Robinson, and J.K. Simmons.
