In fact, the latest update reports him to be very thankful for the opportunity to be on this show. 

The latest "Dancing with the Stars" update shares that Lochte is said to be one of the most accomplished swimmers in the United States. In fact, it is said that he can be almost comparable to Michael Phelps, in terms of skills. In fact, he bagged multiple medals in the Rio Olympics 2016. 

However, the same sporting event revealed the robbery scandal wherein Ryan Lochte and other fellow swimmers fabricated their story to get away from the trouble. It cost Ryan Lochte his endorsements and tons of negative publicity. Worst of all, Ryan Lochte was suspended from the US swimming team for 10 months.

In an interview with New York Magazine, the decorated swimmer opened up about the controversy. He admitted, "I was at my lowest low. The darkest place of my life."

The newest "Dancing with the Stars" update share that the scandal definitely affected him to the extent that he couldn't even leave home. "I didn't want to put myself out there just yet. I was scared to show my face in public." he says.
