New photos and posters for the four-part "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" revival have been released. The new pictures provided a first glimpse of Milo Ventimiglia's Jess and single photos of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel).
The new "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" photos provided by Netflix showed Jess talking with his uncle Luke (Scott Patterson) in the latter's diner. Check out the new snapshots on TVLine.
The four-episode "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" revival is expected to be emotional because of the absence of Richard (portrayed by the late Edward Hermann). Graham said that the revival will showcase "a depth and emotional complexity" of a "more grown-up" series, which influences "all the choices the characters" will undertake.
The newly-widowed Emily (Kelly Bishop) will grapple with life after her husband's death. "What does the death of a husband mean to a woman who had a life very specific to her all of these years? And where does she go from here?" "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said, as quoted by TVLine.
Aside from the new set photos, four art posters were also released that centers on the four seasons -- winter, spring, summer, and fall. Check out the posters featuring Graham and Bledel's characters on The Hollywood Reporter.
There are speculations that Rory and Jess will end up together, given that the latter is present in the "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" revival final episode. Signs, however, pointed to the contrary.
According to Bustle, the absence of Logan (Matt Czuchry) in any "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" promotional photos -- even though the actor appears in all four episodes -- is raising suspicions. This suggests that the character's involvement in the revival is being kept as a top secret by the show's crew.
Ventimiglia also appears in all four episodes of the revival, which means that his role is significant and he might even try to rekindle a romance with Rory. It should be noted, however, that many "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" scenes were located in London where Logan lives. And it's expected that the majority of Logan's scenes will involve Rory, too.
The four-part "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" revival was written and directed by Sherman-Palladino's husband, Dan Palladino. The episodes will drop on Netflix at midnight on Friday, Nov. 25.
