Apple Vs. Mobile Star LLC News: Cuperino-Based Tech Giant Sues Mobile Star For Fake Apple Products Sold On Amazon

Tech giant, Apple Inc., has complained about fake Apple products that are circulating and are sold at online retail electronic company, Amazon. Read more to know the details.

According to Apple, they say that they have been buying iPhone devices Apple chargers and cables, which are labeled as "genuine" yet 90 percent of them are counterfeit, as reported by Associated Press, posted in Yahoo News

However, Apple has not directed to sue Amazon. The company has filed a federal lawsuit against Mobile Star LLC, a New York-based company.

In Computer World's website, it's stated that "Apple makes great efforts to combat the distribution and sale of counterfeit Apple products bearing its trademarks," the Cupertino, California company lawyers said. They add, "Despite Apple's efforts, fake Apple products continue to flood Aamzon.com"

Due to life threatening concerns, Apple has a serious warning for their customers. The company said that counterfeit products have a possibility catch fire and cause a deadly shock while in normal use.

Apple stated reasons why fake products aren't trustworthy. Counterfeits could be a dangerous threat due to poor construction, missing components, flawed design and insufficient electrical insulation, based on a BBC report.

Mobile Star has also allegedly violated copyrights of Apple as they imprinted Apple logos on those counterfeit products. Amazon, on the other hand, has stressed their aggressiveness in chasing after counterfeiters.

They said they have "zero tolerance" for such activity. They added that they will be working closely with manufacturers and brands to chase after counterfeiters, according to Amazon's spokeswoman who spoke to BBC.

Apple has long sent letters to Mobile Star last June but they were left to no avail. However, once Mobile Star answered, it claimed that they bought the products from "reputable suppliers."

The lawsuit that was filed last Monday, Oct 17, 2016, has charged Mobile Star $2 million per counterfeit mark for distributing fake Apple products.
