'Luke Cage' Season 2 Air Date, Latest News & Updates: Claire Temple Refuses To Be Side-Kick? Misty Knight Getting A Costume?

Netflix original offering, "Luke Cage" Season 2 from Marvel, which stars Mike Colter is getting Misty Knight (Simone Missick) costumed. However, fellow "Luke Cage" series star Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) refuses to be a sidekick.

What Culture proposes that "Luke Cage" Season 2 would the perfect time to introduce Misty Knight to her bionic arm. The media outlet reminds that in Marvel comics after Misty Knight lost an arm, the "Luke Cage" detective was given a bionic arm by Tony Stark.

The media outlet points out that "Luke Cage" Season 2 would not likely see Misty Knight interact with Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel films).Still, getting a super-ed up Misty Knight to play teammate to Luke Cage should stir things up even more for the Netflix series.

"Luke Cage," however, has one other hero working in its midst: Claire Temple. Netflix fans would recall from "Luke Cage" Season 1 that Claire Temple saved Misty Knight and had been an invaluable ally (and sounding board) for Luke Cage.

However, Claire Temple made clear to Luke Cage that the Metro General Hospital nurse is not anyone's sidekick. Marvel fans following the Netflix crossovers would remember when Claire Temple first saved Luke Cage in the "Jessica Jones" Season 1 finale and unequivocally told him her stance.

This "Jessica Jones" episode is the first time Claire Temple meets both Luke and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). This is also the first time Claire Temple mentions Daredevil to Jessica Jones.

As fans of the Marvel Netflix series realize by now, Claire Temple is a common denominator for Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil. Other than a possible romantic triangle with Luke Cage and Jessica Jones as Parent Herald cites, Claire Temple has one more important role to play.

A.V. Club points out that "Luke Cage" Season 1 is the first time Claire Temple is called by the nickname of her Marvel alter-ego: Night Nurse. In "Luke Cage" Season 1 Episode 11 ("Now You're Mine"), Claire Temple proves why she's rightfully known as the "healer" of superheroes.

Netflix successfully launched "Luke Cage" Season 1 on Sept 30. News on "Luke Cage" Season 2 confirmation and air date are still pending. What surprises are you hoping to see in "Luke Cage" Season 2?
