Matt LeBlanc Stars In ‘Man With A Plan’: ‘Friends’ Actor Now The Newest TV Daddy

Matt LeBlanc, the 12-year star of "Friends," is Matt Le-Back in the new CBS prime time sitcom "Man With a Plan." LeBlanc plays Adam who is married and has three kids. "My wife is a stay-at-home mom, and once the house is empty during the day and the kids are in school, she wants to go back to work, which is a normal thing so I want to be supportive of that."

Andi, who is played by Liza Snyder, works as a hospital lab technician and is a kind of mom that volunteers to be the kindergarten room parent. Now that their youngest is in kindergarten, she wants to work again. It is now up to Adam to be the kindergarten room parent, clean up after all three kids, and basically be the cause (and solution) to problems that surface all over the place.

"I agree to help out more with the kids, but I quickly realize it isn't for me and I don't like it at all," LeBlanc says and mentions that his character feels like that this might become a big point of contention between him and his wife.

The show was apparently developed with LeBlanc in mind, even if viewers aren't used to seeing Joey Tribbiani as a daddy figure.

LeBlanc mentions that the writers of the show, Jeff and Jackie Filgo, met with him to sort of come up with a new show, and it ended being developed by all three. LeBlanc mentions that the script came in great, as well. "I was like yeah, I want to be part of this."

Although the premise of LeBlanc's character is not what we're used to, one thing that we will be familiar to "Friends" (or Joey) fans will be the multi-cam format of the show, which means it will be filmed in front of an audience whose laughter can be heard.

"If they're not laughing, it's probably not funny," LeBlanc mentions. "You can tell if the jokes are working. I'll get a kick out of that."

"Man with a Plan" airs on CBS Mondays, 8:30 p.m.
