"Penny Dreadful" Season 4 is believed to be happening in the form of a spinoff series. In a previous interview with series creator John Logan, it was revealed that the Showtime drama had to end with the death of Vanessa Ives (Eva Green).

Back then, Logan insisted that "Penny Dreadful" has always been about Vanessa, so her death would also mean the end of the show. However, Logan admitted that a spinoff series is not entirely out of the picture.

In an interview with Josh Hartnett, he shared that he would love for "Penny Dreadful" to return for Season 4, reports Just Jared. However, Hartnett said that he had no say on whether the show gets renewed or not.

Fans, therefore, raised several online petitions in hopes of getting the "Penny Dreadful" spinoff to happen. Since Hartnett has already expressed his interest in coming back for the show, fans thought that the spinoff may focus on Ethan instead.

Nerdist notes that there is a reason for the audience's clamor for "Penny Dreadful" Season 4. Aside from the fact that the show abruptly ended without giving viewers a chance to get the reality sink into their system, the show also has one of the most interesting storylines on TV.

"Penny Dreadful" Season 4 would have still happened if the writers gave other characters the spotlight. For instance, Billie Piper's character, Brona Croft/Lily Frankenstein has a deep backstory, which the show can further explore in new episodes.
