'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer & Release Date: Henry Cavill Cast as Jack Hyde, Production Schedule Set For Early 2016

The success of "Fifty Shades of Grey" undoubtedly set the tone for the subsequent films under the same franchise as EL James' phenomenal bestselling novel has also become a widely popular blockbuster. Hence, the announcement of the creation of its onscreen sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker," could not have come sooner for the fans and followers of the unconventional love story between the meek and innocent Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson, and the aggressive and sexy Christian Grey, portrayed by Jamie Dornan.

While it had been earlier confirmed that the release date for "Fifty Shades Darker" is scheduled on Feb 14, 2017, only a handful of details managed to reach the eager fans of the film. However, it appears that Melty might be able to shed some light on one very important casting decision for the sequel. Apart from confirming that both Dornan and Johnson are reprising their roles as the lead characters of the story, the report reveals that an actor might already been chosen to play the role of the formidable Jack Hyde - and he is none other than the "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" star, Henry Cavill.

In the story, Hyde is identified the owner of the publishing company where Steele is currently employed. Things turn sour for the latter when her boss expresses his intention to seduce and bed her at all costs. While Steele is resistant against the aggressive advances of Hyde, the situation slowly becomes unbearable for her as he relentlessly pursue her - even to the point of resorting to blackmail. Should the film be faithful to the book's plot, then Steele will eventually be saved by Grey.

Reports also indicate that "Fifty Shades Darker" will pick up where "Fifty Shades of Grey" left off - that is, Steele breaking up with Grey. Hence, it could be expected that the latter will be exerting his best efforts to win back his lost lover. Needless to say, the inclusion of Hyde in the mix will definitely add to the tension in the already strained relationship of the two.

As if the tension in the sequel is not enough, "Fifty Shades Darker" will also see the introduction of yet another strong character named Elena Lincoln/Mrs. Robinson, according to News Everyday. According to the report, Lincoln is identified as the "dominant" who introduced BDSM to Grey. The rumor mill points to Charlize Theron for this part but no confirmation has been released.

At the moment, Cavill's involvement in the film has yet to be confirmed by all parties concerned.
