Rockstar Games Fights Cheaters to Make Grand Theft Auto Playable for Everyone; Cheaters’ Funds Will Be Adjusted

Players all around the world have been told by Rockstar Games that those who have unlawfully gained cash within the Grand Theft Auto Online universe will be reprimanded right away and their funds will become inaccessible.

The Grand Theft Auto players that did not heed the warning will be surprised to find a message telling them that their account has been adjusted due to the use of cheats and mods. This is a step by the game company to stop cheaters from staying on easy street while other honest players in the game are left behind.

"To keep the gameplay environment fair we have removed illegitimately gained in-game money from player accounts. If you received an alert saying that your shared bank balance was adjusted, that is because you had illegitimate funds in your account," was posted by the company on the Rockstar Support forum.

The players who have benefited from the game's glitches in order to receive payouts also had their bank accounts drained. Rockstar Games is clearly seen as a company who is serious in punishing those who have swindled the online game out of millions and billions of video game currency.

Similar incidents in the past have seen the company go against cheaters. Back in 2015, Rockstar Games has already started implementing bans on accounts of online players who have used cheats and mods along with using money glitches to their advantage.

The gamers who have diminutive balances won't be much affected but the current balance resets could still have an impact on most players' accounts according to Ars Technica. Players who have accumulated over $20 trillion with the help of mods will definitely be flagged right away as mentioned at the GTA forums.

A spokesman for Rockstar Games said that it's unlikely to solve the problem right away and catch all the cheaters, but noteworthy improvements on the issue are being made to level playing field of the game for everybody.
