'Final Fantasy XV' DLC News Update: Square Enix Introduces Online Co-Op with the Release of New Gameplay Styles

The game company Square Enix has disclosed that the role-playing game "Final Fantasy XV" has officially gone gold and the final piece is the downloadable content (DLC).

The co-op multiplayer expansion will be titled "Comrades" and it's considered as a new way to play the game. It will be an immersive online experience that up to 4 players can join in any given time.

The "Comrades" pack will be released after the update of a three "Episode" expansion that features a non-playable character of the game, along with a "Holiday Pack" and an item pack. The DLC plan for "Final Fantasy XV" will be the first in the popular series that will launch a non-MMO online multiplayer mode.

Square Enix has released info regarding the DLC plan for the RPG along with the season pass contents. Last August, there were even sightings of the season pass for "Final Fantasy XV" being uploaded on the PlayStation store, so fans are now anticipating the DLC release.

"Final Fantasy XV" DLC producer Haruyoshi Sawatari stated that the content creation team had a tight plan from the very beginning. This made it easier to expand the Final Fantasy universe in various directions once the main storyline was finished.

Sawatari also elaborated that he had spent plenty of time at Sony working on titles such as "Rain," "Bloodborne," and "Folklore." That's the main reason why "Final Fantasy XV" follows such a forceful promotional machine, in order to match the scope of the previous games he developed.

The RPG "Final Fantasy XV" is the first time players would not be able to directly control other characters except the lead. But thanks to the DLC, "Final Fantasy" fans can use the characters of Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus. All the "Final Fantasy XV" DLCs that would be released will be presented as single-player adventures with online playability as an added bonus.

Gamers would experience firsthand the personality and unique features of each "Final Fantasy XV" storyline character and it will add better gameplay mechanics to the series. It arrives on November 29 for PS4 and Xbox One.
