Mariah Carey & James Packer Breakup: What Caused The Split? Mariah’s Spending Or James Temper? Cancelled Engagement Gets Messy

The sultry singer, Mariah Carey is apparently single again if the breakup rumors surrounding her engagement with the wealthy Australian beau, James Packer is true. When the news of the couple's split came up, sources are claiming that decision to part ways came from the 49-year old businessman who got pissed off over the pop star's excessive spending.

According to an article that appeared in Woman's Day, aside from the singer's spending sprees, James Packer likewise disapproves the airing of Mariah Carey's new reality show, "Mariah's World" which is set this Dec 2016. In a haste to get out of the relationship, James Packer reportedly did not even bother to take back the million-dollar ring he gave to Mariah when he proposed.

Yet the most recent news regarding the split seems to contradict the above rumors as another report from US Weekly claims that it is actually Mariah Carey who wanted to get out of the relationship. The article reported that Mariah Carey supposedly discovered that James Packer has temper issues and the singer is demanding $50 million dollars from Packer.

Another speculation hints that the breakup may be caused by Mariah Carey's friendship with backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka. Representatives from Mariah's side quickly denied any truths to the cheating allegations. Amidst all the breakup intrigues, some reports claim that Mariah Carey and James Packer may still get together as the pair are supposedly sorting things out.

Mariah Carey and James Packer had been dating for less than a year when they announced their engagement last January. Mariah is previously married to Tommy Mottola and then later to Nick Cannon with whom she has twin sons. James Packer has been divorced twice as well.

As to what will be the ultimate fate of Mariah Carey and James Packer relationship? Right now, only time can tell.
