Apple Latest News, Rumors, Specs: ‘Unique, Durable’ iPhone 8 To Bring Back Glass Body Design, A11 Chip Underneath; 8GB RAM Version Coming?

Even with the announcement of the new MacBook Pro with "Track Bar" already accomplished, Apple's limelight is still shining brightly. For one, there's still the upcoming iPad Mini and the iPad Pro and eventually, the official word on the fate of the iPad Air. The other, without any hint of hesitation, revolves around the iPhone 8.

Scour the World Wide Web for details and rumors about Apple's next flagship and the results will be astounding. Apple's iPhone line comes with an anticipated legacy that tipsters just can't help but dig deeper into the meat of the matter. Among those is Mstars News, who detailed that Apple is aiming for a "particularly unique and durable design" - two virtues that Cupertino prides to be as natural as waking up in the morning.

According to the website, the next iPhone will flaunt an OLED display screen with Corning Gorilla Glass, alongside a security-centric eye and fingerprint scanner. It's also rumored that the Apple iPhone 8 will be shipped in a bevy of variants, including 64GB to 256GB onboard storage options to match its 4GB RAM. Another notable tip is that Apple is also planning to out an iPhone 8 with an 8GB RAM, much like Samsung's current DRAM project.

For their part, Mac Rumors is suggesting that Apple is considering "re-adopting a glass body" design previously used on the iPhone 4. To support its theory, it quoted Catcher Technology and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kou who said that at least one Apple model will don a glass body "built around an aluminum or stainless steel frame." There's also a suggestion that should Apple decides to ditch the remaining bezels, the iPhone 8 could go out as big as 5.8inches with a "wraparound screen".

On the inside, rumors claim that the iPhone 8 will be powered by an A11 chip built on a 10-nanometer process. It is said to be "faster and more efficient", and will account for new features like wireless long-range charging, advanced biometrics for tighter security and a revamped tactile engine to "create more complex" vibrations. If Apple pushes for this, there is a possibility that the home button might be eliminated from the design.

Kou also pointed that the iPhone 8 Plus will have a dual-lens camera setup and optical image stabilization (OIS) for the wide angle and telephoto lenses. Apple has yet to release an official date, but if the company's timetable is to be followed, the iPhone 8 is expected to land in September next year.
