Motivational Parenting: Why Surprising A Child With The Gift Of Encouragement Is Important

Parents always want the best for their children. They always try their best to help them improve their performances, habits, work and behavior but sometimes things do not work the way they want to. Children get annoyed by constant advices and then they try to avoid them.

According to the Centre of Parenting Education, the best way to motivate a child is to encourage them by giving them gifts. Children love gifts and they get extremely happy when they get one, especially from their parents.

There is no doubt that a child will do anything to get a gift. Just a small gift can make a child do well, it encourages and motivates them a lot. Giving gifts, doesn't only support the child mentally but also serve as a means to encourage them and reinforce good behavior. Ever heard of classical conditioning? It applies over here as well.

As per The Parenting Place, the gift of encouragement does not only stimulate a child to do good things but it also encourages them to try and experiment new things. They accept to make mistakes and they also learn from them.

A parent can also encourage and motivate their child by praising all the little and small things they do. Parents note everything about their children but they do not praise them as they think it is not important. However, that's hardly the case ever. Children need support, encouragement and motivation all the time. They only have parents' support, which if not given can make a child feel left alone.

When a child gets appreciated, they feel good and they will be reinforced to do good things so that they can have the attention and appreciation of their parents. If it's been a long time and a child is not doing anything good then a parent can simply recall their past positive experiences and make remind them of their good gesture. Once reminded, they will surely want to do all those good things and make their parents happy again.
