‘Harry Potter Go’ Release, Update: Launch Date Confirmed For ‘Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World,’  ‘Pokemon Go’ Inspired App Pending Development?

"Harry Potter Go," a game based on the mobile hit "Pokemon Go" app and the well-celebrated novel "Harry Potter," has not been confirmed yet. However, rumor has it that "Harry Potter Go" may be a possibility given the success of the franchise. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. already announced a new game called "Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World" which is based on the upcoming "Harry Potter" prequel "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

"Harry Potter Go" may not be released soon but fans of the series are now eyeing on "Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World," a game that requires players to search for hidden objects. Players are tasked to explore "Harry Potter" classic locations such as Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade and of course, Hogwarts Castle, Elite Daily reported. "Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World" allows players to act as new Ministry of Magic member who can use spells and make magical potions to locate the magical beasts that have escaped in the story of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

"Harry Potter Go," on the other hand, is different from "Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World" as it is intended to be an augmented reality game similar to "Pokemon Go." In a fan-made "Harry Potter Go" trailer released in August, fans were given a glimpse of the Marauder's map which is the counterpart of the "Pokemon Go" map. The trailer also revealed the counterparts of "Pokemon Go" eggs and PokeStops which are Witches and Wizards cards and Magic Stops, respectively, ComicBook reported.

The "Harry Potter Go" trailer also replaced the "Pokemon Go" teams as "Harry Potter" houses such as Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. The video was entertaining especially to "Harry Potter" fans which may be the reason why it was rumored to reach Niantic, causing the developer to consider creating the game. However, the company has not confirmed the development of "Harry Potter Go"as of this posting.

"Harry Potter Go" may or may not be developed in the future but "Harry Potter" fans may still able to enjoy games such as "Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World" which will be released on Nov. 17. Though the new game is not based on virtual reality, players could still find the game interesting. In the meantime, check out the "Harry Potter Go" trailer below.
