Huawei Mate 9 Launches On Thursday: Android Nougat 7.0 & Optical Zoom Camera For $1300?

Huawei Mate 9 is all set to launch this Thursday as reported by Weibo's official page in China. A teaser poster on Huawei's official Weibo page revealed that Nov. 3 is the date for its brand new smartphone Mate 9.

Huawei will have a press conference on "latest innovations and exciting advances" on Nov. 3 in Munich, Germany. It is highly speculated that the press is for the release of Huawei Mate 9.

Huawei Mate 9's official-looking press image shows that the screen is 5.9 inches with 1080p resolution. The model is rumored to have QHD, and there might be a premium curved-screen model.

Huawei Mate 9 is expected to have a dual camera on the back--one shoots at 20 megapixels and the other at 12 megapixels. Rumors also suggest that the well-known camera maker, Leica, will be back with optical zoom cameras.

China' smartphone Huawei Mate 9 is expected to unbox with Android 7.0 Nougat with HiSilicon's new Kirin 960 chipset, as reported by GSM ArenaHiSilicon unveiled the new Kirin 960 chipset, which puts the Huawei-owned chip maker a step ahead of the competition.

Per the poster, loop with that car-silhouette taking up the center indicates the CPU speed, new Kirin 960 CPU or some new technology might be up. Two memory configurations with the higher one up to 6GB of RAM with up to 256GB of internal storage with a retail price tag of $1,300.

Other specifications include fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer, compass. The battery is non-removable Li-Po battery. Huawei Mate 9 will be available in white, gold, graphite, pink and black colors.
