'Fantastic Beasts 2' Latest Updates: Johnny Depp To Join Cast? New Setting Revealed And It Will Not Be In The UK

A few weeks from now, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is going to be released in theaters. News emerged that instead of three films for the franchise, "Fantastic Beasts" is going to have five films to be made. "Fantastic Beasts" will feature the connection to one of "Harry Potter" films and will focus on the Dark Wizard Grindelwald's rise to power.

Another news was raised recently that Johnny Depp is now part of the cast of "Fantastic Beasts 2." The fans wondered what the actor's role will be and speculation was roaming around that Depp might play as Grindelwald on the "Fantastic Beasts 2."

The director of "Fantastic Beasts," David Yates has confirmed that the second installment will take place in Paris. Yates added that J.K. Rowling has written the script, and it's quite ambitious but as magical as the first "Fantastic Beasts," according to The Independent.

France as the setting for "Fantastic Beasts 2" will be magnificent due to amazing and historical landmarks such as The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe to name a few. There's no confirmation yet that Paris is going to be the only setting for "Fantastic Beasts 2," but Eddie Redmayne's journey will be based on J.K. Rowling's story.

The mentioning of France as the setting for the second installment of "Fantastic Beasts 2" was due to Fleur Delacour competing in the Tri-Wizard tournament. Also, speculation of Grindelwald reigning terror across Europe is also being talked about.
