'Beauty And The Beast' Movie Spoilers: Disney Reveals Main Cast; Watson Hints At Belle's Own Backstory

"Beauty and the Beast" may be the tale as old as time, but it is certainly an unforgettable one. With the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast" movie, it is just reasonable for fans to be excited about it, especially now since Disney reveals the main cast.

The main cast for the upcoming Disney movie, "Beauty and the Beast" has just been released. The recent cover of Entertainment Weekly shows Emma Watson and Dan Steven in their fairytale costumes as Beauty and the Beast, respectively.

Watson, known for her role as Hermione Granger in "Harry Potter" movies, poses as the iconic Beauty with the classic yellow ballgown that Belle wore in the "Beauty and the Beast" animated movie. Beast, on the other hand, will be portrayed by Dan Stevens, who became popular in the hit TV series "Downtown Abbey." He wears the same navy blue coat with gold accent seen in the classic "Beauty and the Beast."

The latest issue has more "Beauty and the Beast" details inside, including a photo of the classic animated objects that made the "Beauty and the Beast" an unforgettable one. The endearing Mrs. Potts, played by Emma Thompson, is featured in the magazine, as well as the funny duo of Lumiere and Cogsworth, played by Ian McKellan and Ewan McGregor, respectively.

"Beauty and the Beast" fans can also see Luke Evans in his boastful role as the villain Gaston, wearing a red coat while standing on a pub table. Other "Beauty and the Beast" photos include Belle and the Beast inside the gigantic library, among others.

Watson revealed to the magazine that the "Beauty and the Beast" movie has expanded the animated version. She said Belle now has a backstory, particularly of her being an inventor like her father.

"In the animated movie, it's her father who is the inventor, and we actually co-opted that for Belle. I was like, 'Well, there was never very much information or detail at the beginning of the story as to why Belle didn't fit in, other than she liked books," she said.

"Also what is she doing with her time? So, we created a backstory for her, which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, we made Belle an inventor," the "Beauty and the Beast" actress added.

"Beauty and the Beast" is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2017. Who among the "Beauty and the Beast" characters is your favorite? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
