CMA Awards 2016: Complete List Of Winners And Nominees

The 50th Annual Country Music Association Awards (best known as the CMA Awards) finally took place last night Wednesday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The much-awaited awards event recognized and awarded exemplary artists, musicians, composers and songs in the world of country music. It was hosted by American country singers, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, who were also part of the line-up for the jam-packed live performances that night. Underwood was also a very special part of the night, as she was both nominated and named a winner in multiple categories.

American award shows normally feature famous personalities from outside the music world, and we loved that we were able to see the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, "Grease" star Olivia Newton-John, Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey and even Olympic gold medalist Simon Biles.

But of course, the main highlight of the night was the announcement of winners in the wide variety of categories. Can't say we were surprised to see Chris Stapleton hailed as the big winner that night!
