‘The Defenders’ Cast, Air Date, News: Netflix To Confirm More Characters Through Short Teasers This Week; Will ‘The Punisher’ Join In?

"The Defenders" is said to be comprised not only of huge superheroes but also of popular supporting characters from "Luke Cage," "Jessica Jones," "Daredevil" and possibly "Iron Fist." Netflix has recently announced that it will release short teaser clips that will reveal some of the new characters in the upcoming series. Reports claimed that Jon Berenthal could also join the team as Frank Castle .

"The Defenders" confirmed casts include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page from "Daredevil," Simone Missick Misty Knight from "Luke Cage" and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Rachel Taylor as Trish Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth from "Jessica Jones." "Daredevil's" Stick portrayed by Scott Glenn is also said to join "The Defenders" along with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Blastr reported.

"The Defenders" is also suggested to include "Daredevil" actor Berenthal as Castle who is now confirmed to claim a lead role in Marvel's "The Punisher," a spin-off series centered on Castle himself. However, Berenthal's appearance on "The Defenders" is yet to be confirmed. With Netflix releasing mini teasers to reveal more characters to join "The Defenders," fans will learn whether or not Castle will also join the highly anticipated superhero series.

The new teasers to be released for "The Defenders" are expected to arrive within the week, Geek reported. No specific date has been announced, however. That said, fans who are excited to check out the teasers are advised to head to "The Defenders" Twitter account for more updates.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that "The Defenders" will only have eight episodes in it though this, as well, has not been confirmed. If it is true that the show will only last for eight episodes, it can be expected that the confirmed characters on "The Defenders" will only have short appearances. Additionally, producers of the show has not released the official plot of "The Defenders" despite the fact that its air date could just be a couple of months from now.
