NBA Latest News: New York Knicks Early Slump & Management Issues, Fans Starting To Lose Hope

In a previous interview with Derick Rose after joining the New York Knicks this season, Rose confidently declared the Knicks as one of the "Super Teams" in the NBA. The Knicks added a former MVP in Derick Rose, a defensive presence in Joakim Noah, a two-way player in Courtney Lee and scorer with a lot to prove in Brandon Jennings, via Fox Sports.

The Knicks organization composed an interesting unit to start the season and brought new hope to its fanbase. However, the team is off to a very disappointing start. They are now 1-3 on the standings and are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

In New York's recent loss, the team was slaughtered by the Houston Rockets 118-99 in their own home court where fans started booing the team in this young season. The Madison Square Garden was filled with disappointments when the home team was blown out by a Rockets team that also has new recruits but not as much as impacting players compared to the changes the Knicks made with their lineup, according to New York Post.

After the game, Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek stated that the team must follow the defensive game plan and must have the intensity to close out games. The Knicks benched starting center Kristaps Porzingis for much of the 4th quarter because they think his defense was off that night.

It was a disappointing night for the Knicks in all levels. This was also the same scenario when they visited the Detroit Pistons the other night which they also lost. Porzingis was benched for most of the 4th quarter and when he returned to the game in the closing minutes, he was already out of rhythm. Porzingis believed that he should be out on the playing court to help his team, regardless.

In a report by New York Times, the team still believes that they can do special this season and things will eventually work out as the season unfolds. Knicks star and leader, Carmelo Anthony is still optimistic about his team even though they lack coordination and defensive intensity at this time. Anthony said that things will get better and they will be able to fix the issues regarding the team's current situation.

Critics believe that the New York Knick will face a handful of problems as the season goes. New recruits Derick Rose and Joakim Noah came from a defense-first team and they want to bring a defensive culture to the team which they are awfully terrible in their first few games.

The team obviously is still finding chemistry and they look like lost and uncoordinated in their few games but Anthony and the rest of the team still believe that they would be able to pick up and be able to learn from this early bad experience.
