'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer & Cast Update: 'Superman' Henry Cavill Teases Jack Hyde Role, Actor Plays Coy

When news broke out that the "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" star, Henry Cavill, might take on the role of the formidable Jack Hyde in the widely anticipated "Fifty Shades Darker" film, fans and followers of the EL James franchise could not contain their excitement. While no word has been officially released with regard this potential casting, the comments uttered by the "Man of Steel" actor himself definitely fueled to fire.

"How can I make this interesting?" Cavill said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, referring to the question regarding his rumored involvement in the sequel of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Instead of providing a direct answer that could have either confirmed the speculations or squashed the hopes of the fans, the "Man From U.N.C.L.E." star opted to be coy about it. He responded, "I think it's probably best that I say nothing for now."

As expected, his reply did nothing to end the speculations. While the actor chooses to keep mum on the "Fifty Shades Darker" casting scoop, Cavill was more than willing to share his insights on the possibility of the BDSM toys working for or against him in an intimate setting. When teased of the use of "one of those electrical devices" found in Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) chamber to get the "Man of Steel" to disclose some details on his possible role, the actor was quick to point out that the gadget will not "work" on him since he is "non-conductive." Considering that he is Superman after all, this claim could be true.

Meanwhile, another casting rumor that has fans of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" thrilled is the possibility of Charlize Theron playing the role of Elena Lincoln. In accordance with the books of EL James, Lincoln is the lady responsible for introducing Dornan's character, Grey, to the world of BDSM. Should Theron truly land this part, then she will be featured as the former "dominant" partner to a younger "submissive" Grey.

When asked about this casting rumor, Theron told E Online that it was the first time she actually learned of her speculated involvement in "Fifty Shades Darker." The actress said, "I hadn't heard that one." She went on to say, "Wow, I'm just learning so much about myself on this carpet tonight." The "Mad Max Fury" star then added, "I'm going to play the kinky guy with the room. I need to stretch. I need to find something outside of the box."
