‘Big Hero 6’ News & Update: Original Voice Cast Of ‘Big Hero 6’ Returns For Disney’s ‘Big Hero 6:The Animated Series’

Disney's award-winning animated film, "Big Hero 6" based on the Marvel comic of the same name, will return as an animated series in Disney XD in 2017. Most of the original voice cast of "Big Hero 6" will reprise their roles for the upcoming animated series.

Maya Rudolph, Jamie Chung, Scott Adsit, Alan Tudyk, Ryan Potter, Genesis Rodriguez, David Shaughnessy, and Stan Lee will return as Aunt Cass, Go Go, Baymax, Alistair Krei, Hiro, Honey Lemon, Heathcliff The Butler and Fred's dad respectively for the "Big Hero 6:The Animated Series". Khary Payton and Brooks Wheelan will take over Damon Wayans Jr. and T.J Miller as voices for "Big Hero 6" characters Wasabi and Fred.

"Big Hero 6:The Animated Series" is set immediately after the events of the "Big Hero 6" film. The adventures of Hiro and huggable and compassionate robot, Baymax along with friends, no-nonsense genius Go Go, quirky scientist Honey Lemon, control freak Wasabi and fanboy Fred continues. The friends form the Big Hero 6 superhero team that will continue their hi-tech adventures protecting San Fransokyo from villains.

"Big Hero 6: The Animated Series" will also feature on Hiro Yamada's daily life. Hiro, now lauded as a prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, will be facing new challenges both academically and socially.

The additional voice cast of "Big Hero 6: The Animated Series" will feature Jenifer Lewis as the strict Professor Gransville, Andy Richter as Globby, Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole, Diedrich Bader as Bluff Dunder, Haley Tju as Hiro's classmate Karmi, John Ross Bowie as Mel, Andrew Scott as villain Obake and Susan Sullivan as Fred's mom.

The Emmy-award winning team of Disney Channel hit animated series, Kim Possible, Mark McCrokle, Bob Schooley and Nick Filippi will be "Big Hero 6: The Animated Series" executive producers. Nick Filippi will also serve as supervising director for the upcoming animated series.
