The Twitter feud between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj has continuously gained attention, and many other stars joined the controversial conflict between the two artists. However, the "Bad Blood" singer has realized her mistake and is determined to end the dispute by issuing an apology to the "Anaconda" rapper.
The conflict between the two artists started when Minaj turned to Twitter and rant about the biases she observed in the industry after the 2015 VMAs nominations.
Minaj's hit single, "Anaconda," only scored two nominations and was left out in the top category. Moreover, her song "Feeling Myself" featuring Beyoncé was also snubbed, according to Gossip Cop.
Several fans of the rapper also agree that her song deserves recognition and were also questioning as to why "Anaconda" did not make the cut.
Nicki expressed her thoughts regarding the nomination in several tweets, one of which says, "When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination."
Another tweet from the rapper is suggesting that if another "kind" of artist performed her single, it would have gained the nomination for best choreo and vid of the year.
Minaj went on with another tweet: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."
Swift seemed to take Minaj's tweets personally, when, in fact, the rapper never dropped names. Perhaps, because aside from her, no other girl besides Beyoncé was nominated for the Video of the Year category.
The "Blank Space" artist responded, "@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot," which took Minaj by surprise.
However, she replied to Swift with clarity that the tweet was not meant for her. "Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But should speak on this. @taylorswift13."
With Katy Perry, Swift's rival, joining the chime, the controversy went on, and netizens continued to bash Swift. On Thursday, Swift issued an apology to Minaj in a tweet, "I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki."
Nicki was happy with Swift's apology and even tweeted back expressing that Swift's act meant a lot to her. "That means so much Taylor, thank you. @taylorswift13," the rapper wrote.
In another tweet, Minaj expressed that she has always loved Taylor. She understands that everyone makes mistake, and with Taylor's recognizing hers, she gained more respect from Nicki. Nicki is encouraging everyone to move on from the controversy.
On the other hand, according to OK! Magazine, Swift broke down after a long list of stars and old friends despised her. She was devastated with her recent Twitter feud with Minaj. An insider said, "She just doesn't understand why so many big-name people hate her."
