Lady Gaga To Play Donatella Versace In ‘American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan’

The domination of Lady Gaga is just beginning. With her fourth number one album, "Joanne", the confirmed Super Bowl halftime show and her brilliant acting in "American Horror Story: Hotel" and "American Horror Story; Roanoke", we'll be seeing more of Lady Gaga in the upcoming "American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan".

Lady Gaga's third time working with producer Ryan Murphy will be in "American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan". In "American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan", Lady Gaga will play the slain Gianni Versace's sister, Donatella Versace.

The third installment of "American Crime Story" will focus on the 1997 murder of fashion designer and main creator of the fashion house, Versace, Gianni Versace. Gianni Versace was shot by serial killer Andrew Cunanan in his Miami home. A week later, Andrew Cunanan killed himself. No motive was found on why Andrew Cunanan killed Gianni Versace. The serial killer Andrew Cunanan has been on a three-month killing spree before killing Gianni Versace.

According to reports, upon learning of Gianni Versace's death, sister Donatella Versace collapsed. The heir of the fashion house, Versace, Donatella Versace was then reported to have fled to the Caribbean to escape the media.

During Entertainment Weekly's PopFest in L.A, producer Ryan Murphy coyly smiled when the moderator suggested that Lady Gaga would be perfect in the role as Donatella Versace. Well, now that it's confirmed that Lady Gaga is indeed playing Donatella Versace, the similarities are just uncanny.

In 2014, Lady Gaga starred in Versace's spring campaign. Donatella Versace and Lady Gaga are reported to be close friends. In her "Artpop" album, Lady Gaga penned a song, "Donatella", for Donatella Versace.

The second season of "American Crime Story" will be about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the third season will be about the murder of Gianni Versace. Filming of the second season of "American Crime Story" will begin the same time as that of the third season. FX has ordered a 10-episode run of both of the seasons.
