'Grand Theft Auto 6' News & Release Date Update: 'GTA 6' Development Should Not Be Affected By 'Red Dead Redemption 2'

"Grand Theft Auto 6" is yet to be officially announced by Rockstar Games, but it is believed that its development and release should not be affected by the establishment of "Red Dead Redemption 2." This is because "GTA 6" is supposedly being initiated over at Rockstar North, while "RDR 2" is in development over at Rock Star San Diego.

It is generally presumed that the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6" is delayed due to the recent announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2" by Rockstar Games. However, the two games' development should not be affected by each other, according to iDigitalTimes.

Although the two games are under the same video game company, they are being developed by two separate development teams namely Rockstar North and Rockstar San Diego. Additionally, It is rumored that the team working on "RDR 2" is even slightly bigger than the crew over at Bethesda Game Studios.

Unlike other companies producing triple-A video games, Rockstar is uniquely vast. It encompasses ten operating subdivisions and more than 1,000 employees. Some of these subsidiaries such as Rockstar New England, Rockstar Lincoln, and Rockstar Leeds are not even suited to make original games. Instead, they serve as support for projects being worked on by other subdivisions.

What is rumored to be delaying "GTA 6" is Rockstar Games' financial goals. They are speculated to want to make as much money possible from "Red Dead Redemption 2." For this reason, they are going to have to announce and release "GTA 6" at a later time. "RDR 2" is set to be released in 2017.

According to a previous report, it is otherwise assumed that the delay of "Grand Theft Auto 6" is caused by Rockstar Games' intention to incorporate virtual reality technology to the game. The report also suggests that fans will have to wait until 2020 for "GTA 6."
