‘Pokemon GO’ Nearby Tracking Feature News & Update: Why Are Players Furious About The Game’s Latest Update?

Latest game update for "Pokémon GO," a geographic place of capture upgrade allows players to record where his specific Pokemon was caught. The new update, however, suffered cold reception from players who were obviously expecting something else.

Forbes recalls that among the many technical glitches that came along the original release of "Pokémon GO" last July, the biggest bug of them all was that of the nearby tracking system. The gravity of the technical issue convinced "Pokémon GO" developer Niantic to cut off the functionality in full just few weeks after the game's release date.

But the makers swore the feature will be remodeled to come back with much cooler functionalities. Players have been waiting and waiting, but up to now, nothing has been heard of the promised return, players becoming more and more impatient.

Fans had reasons to expect that the feature was about to return to the game since news surfaced that Niantic was already in the middle of testing the revised feature in August at San Francisco. But still, nothing. Frustration increased when BGR quotes developers saying that the feature is still being tested and would refuse to confirm a specific date, nor make estimations at the very least.

Players of "Pokémon GO" became furious with the lack of update from Niantic. They were given false hope when Niantic announced a new update. But as soon as fans realized that the functionality turned out to be something else, frustrations grew double.

Players warn that they are not willing to wander aimlessly to look for Pokemon in the freezing cold of winter. The current app's tracker still notifies players whenever Pokemon are nearby, but gives no clue as to its relative location to where the player stands.

Fan-made FastPokeMap is thankfully nearing its return - a feature that might offer a free save for this game in the coming winter. The pressure is still on for Niantic. Are the poke trainers still willing to wait?
