iPad Pro Mini, iPad Mini 5 Release Date & Specs Rumors: New iPad Will Have 2017 Spring Launch

iPad Pro Mini or iPad Mini 5 is rumored to launch in March 2017 during Apple's Spring 2017 event. iPad Pro Mini is said to be released along with iPad Pro 2.  

After the iPad Mini 4's launch on Sept. 9, 2015, the iPad Mini 5's release was expected in the launch event in March, the WWDC Developers Conference in June, and the launch event in September and October this year. But none of Apple's events have something to speak on iPad Mini 5 release. This brings to a conclusion that the iPad Mini 5 will be unveiled in March 2017.

The next big question is "what will it be named?" iPad Pro or iPad Mini 5 or iPad Pro 7.9. If the upcoming device is named "Pro" then, it would be 9.7 inch and 12.9-inch models. For the new iPad Mini 5, Apple might use Series 7000 aluminum, which is stiffer and lighter, the PC Advisor reported.

iPad Mini 5 is expected to have 7.9 Retina display like the iPad Mini 4, but would come with 7000 Series aluminum chassis, making it more durable. Other specifications include 3d Touch as found in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

iPad Mini 5 will possibly be water-resistant, the IP68 protection as Apple has introduced it in the iPhone 7 smartphones. As Apple comes up with posh designs with new models, so the iPad Mini 5 might come up with Apple Pencil.

iPad Mini 5 is also expected to run iOS 10. Rumors suggest that the upcoming model of iPad Mini would be powered by Apple A8 processor and M8 motion co-processor. The storage capacity would be 32GB, but the new iPad may come in smaller versions as well. iPad Mini 5's price would certainly be more than $500. Stay tuned for more updates.
