‘Gotham’ Season 3 Episode 9 Spoilers: 'The Executioner' Promo Released; Will James Gordon Go Dark With Barnes? [Video]

The promo for "Gotham" Season 3 Episode 9, entitled "The Executioner," has just been released and it's enough to get fans raving in anticipation for the new episode. Perhaps the biggest question of all is, will James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) finally succumb to the dark side?

The promo video shows Ivy Pepper, portrayed by Maggie Geha, get involved in a dangerous situation. Ivy reveals her true identity to Selina (Camren Bicondova) and Bruce (David Mazouz). Unfortunately, the "Gotham" character will lead her friends to danger along with her secret, according to Comicbook.

But this isn't the only explosive surprise "Gotham" has for its fans. According to the synopsis for episode 9, Gordon will begin to have doubts on Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis), which will definitely affect their working relationship in the future. 

Meanwhile, it seems that fans are still hung over on the show's last episode. As EW recapped, "Gotham's" Season 3 Episode 8,"Mad City: Blood Rush," brought a lot of memories to Gordon as he reconnected with the motto of his family: "While we breathe, we shall defend."

Fans also saw how Captain Barnes embraced the dark side. The episode also showed how Barnes pondered on his future with Gordon as his partner.

"Gotham" Season 3 Episode 8 also raised some questions for Gordon on his faith in Barnes as he slowly slipped into the dark side. Gordon also needed to face another dilemma in the form of Mario (James Carpinello), who was trying to wedge a love triangle between Gordon and his wife Lee (Morena Baccarin).

These plots will continue to play out on "Gotham" Season 3 Episode 9, which will air on Monday, Nov. 14 on Fox at 8 p.m. ET.
