'Grimm Season 7' Canceled: Fans Petition Did Not Work But Spinoff In The Works?

NBC's "Grimm" is one of the most successful show to air on the small screens for years. Unfortunately, "Grimm" Season 6 would be Nick Burkhardt's last stint as the show heads to its final run because "Grimm" Season 7 is canceled.

When NBC announced that "Grimm" Season 6 is the last some viewers are really not surprised. When the network moved the show's time slot to a graveyard slot some take this as an indication that "Grimm" will be canceled. In addition, the fewer episodes for "Grimm" Season 6 is another hint that the show is about to bid goodbye for good.

However, "Grimm" fans are not satisfied so they created an online petition to urge NBC to renew "Grimm" Season 7. The Grimmster Family thinks that Nick Burkhardt, Juliette Silverton, Captain Sean Renard and Adalind Schade's stories will not be properly wrapped up in Season 6. They want at least seven seasons for "Grimm."

However, just like "Limitless" and "Penny Dreadful," it seems that online petitions are not enough to convince the networks to renew popular shows. According to Health Aim, "Grimm" Season 7 is canceled. The network already announced that there are no more new seasons after "Grimm" Season 6. However, there are rumors that a "Grimm" spinoff might be in the works.

According to Mobile & Apps, instead of producing "Grimm" Season 7, the show is getting a spinoff series after season 6. The alleged "Grimm" spinoff series will focus on the Wesen couple and their hybrid child who will be stronger than Adalind Schade's daughter Diana.

At the time the "Grimm" spinoff series is not confirmed yet, thus fans should still take these reports with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, "Grimm" Season 6 will premiere on Jan. 6, 2017.

NBC announced that there will be major changes in the cast of "Grimm" Season 6. The "Grimm" finale will cover the final battle of the long-time Nemesis Nick Burkhardt and Sean Renard.

How do you feel about "Grimm" Season 7's cancellation? Do you prefer the series to continue or a 'Grimm" spinoff series will do? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
