NES Classic Edition Now Available On Amazon, But Only In Limited Quantities

Missing Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, and other Nintendo computer games you played as a child in the late 80's and 90's? Well, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is back, and now is your best chance to buy the item. Amazon announced that the NES Classic Edition will be available online, but here's the catch: only while supplies last.

Amazon is selling "limited" quantities of the NES Classic Edition beginning November 11, at 2 p.m. Pacific Time. Only one unit will be available per customer, and pre-ordering is not allowed anywhere.

Each unit costs $59.99. Expecting "very high" demand, the online retail giant said that it cannot guarantee to have enough supply of the NES Classic Edition for long, CNET reports. Amazon added, however, that it will receive more supplies in the coming weeks, and that announcements will be made when they become available again. It did not say exactly when.

According to its listing on Amazon, the NES Classic Edition has the original look of the gadget, first released in 1985. But the 2016 edition is smaller and sleeker than the original.

The NES Classic Edition has 30 built-in games, including hits like Super Mario, Mega Man, The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy. The package comes with a standard HDMI cable, an old-school controller, and AC adapter. Additional controllers will be sold separately.

Nostalgic users will have several options to change the display mode so that the games would appear the way they did in the old days, according to NintendoThe first is the CRT filter, which makes the display look like an old TV with scan lines. The second is the 4:3 display, which has the slight horizontal stretch of the original NES. Finally, it has the Pixel Perfect option, where pixels look like a perfect square, allowing users to see the games in precise detail as they were designed.

Now that's perfect for a #ThrowbackThursday or #FlashbackFriday photo, wouldn't you agree?
