'World of Tanks' Now Available on Xbox One

The long wait is over. Wargaming announced that "World of Tanks" can now be accessed through Xbox One.

Avid gamers can now play "World of Tanks" on Xbox One, as reported by Biogamer Girl. The release comes with an announcement that the power of the console enables cross-platform play between the Xbox One and Xbox 360. The graphics have been enhanced and a new mode, called Player versus Environment or PVE, has been added. Definitely, the new generation of tank warfare is now accessible.

In addition, the PVE mode feature serves as a good entry point for new tankers. Social and streaming support are being offered under the new Xbox One platform.

According to a press release of Wargaming, shared by Biogamer Girl's website, the version of the game offers a first-to-market function that has never been available in other cross-platform multiplayer matches on Xbox.

"Across all platforms, World of Tanks has one of the most dedicated online communities of players and we are expanding that community as we break new ground with this revolutionary cross-platform play functionality on consoles," stated Denny Thorley, SVP of product development, Wargaming.

This innovation is said to bridge the gap between users of Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

On its website, World of Tanks identified the major changes that gamers can expect. These include: improved inscription, emblem camera, some audio updates, new help screen tutorials for players and self-splash damage disabled high explosive rounds among others. Some of the Xbox One exclusives include timed challenges with concept art, Twitch streaming, web portal stats, access to leaderboards and new game help system menu and other innovative features.

Gamespot reported that players who use one Xbox live account may sign in using two platforms, and can easily access tree progress, achievements and in-game research. In addition, the updated version also offers a voice chat feature for the users of both Xbox One and Xbox 360. While the game can be downloaded for free, one needs to have an active Xbox live Gold membership to be able to play the game.

"World of Tanks" was launched way back in 2011 and has garnered loyal users since then. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 version was launched in February 2014. The launch of the game for Xbox One is something that many users have been waiting for.
