Alec Baldwin and Wife Hilaria Thomas Announce Pregnancy

Another "30 Rock" star is going to be a dad. Actor Alec Baldwin, who is playing the role of Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom, is expecting his first child with wife Hilaria Thomas. The expecting couple confirmed the news to Extra.

"We're having a baby! It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise," the mom-to be said while sharing her excitement with Extra's AJ Calloway, Tuesday.

Baldwin, who is expecting the baby in summer, will be joining his co-stars on 30 Rock, Tracy Morgan and James Marsden.  In February 2013, Morgan announced expecting his first child with fiancée Megan Wollover. Marsden, who appears as Criss, a love interest for Liz Lemon, became a father recently.

The 54-year-old actor explained how his wife literally screamed out of happiness when she confirmed the pregnancy via a pregnancy test conducted at home.

"There's a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved if there's a spider in the house, not exaggerating," Baldwin told Extra. "Normally, I will be reading a book. We're in the country, it's quiet, some time to really relax and unwind and sometimes, once a month, you hear 'Ahhh, Alec, Alec!' I come upstairs, and there's a spider on the wall. So then I hear that scream again, but it was not a spider."

According to the father-to-be, there is nothing equal to the joy a child brings in life. "We can joke all about it, but it's honestly the most amazing moment. We are really sharing something special," said Baldwin, showing support for his wife.

Baldwin, who won the 2013 SAG Award for Best Actor for his role in "30 Rock," started dating yoga instructor Thomas in 2011 and tied the knot in June 2012.

Apart from the new addition, Baldwin has a 17-year-old daughter named Ireland, from his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
